Ground Source Heat Pump

Ground Source heat pumps transfers the latent heat from the ground to heat your home. Heatpumps circulate water and antifreeze through pipes buried in the garden and transfers the heat in to the home via underfloor heating or radiators. Suitable for properties that are off the gas grid and have ample outdoor space.

What can a Ground Source Heat pump Installation do for you?

  • Eco-friendly: They don’t require external venting and hence do no pollute the air. On average compared to an oil burner you can save up to 540kg of CO2 emissions a year.
  • Heat pumps have low operating and maintenance costs which makes them more reliable than standard heating systems.
  • Beneathe the surface, ground temperature stays the constant, so gorund soruce heat pumps work all year round.
  • A "fit and forget" technology, it requires exetremely little maintainence once installed, and can last up to 40+ years.

Heat pumps work in much the same way as a fridge but in reverse, the heat is absorbed out of a fridge through frions to keep it cold , in the same way the heat is absorbed out of the fluid flowing in the ground and transfer via a heat exchanger in the the pipes running through your home.

Pipes can be laid flat or vertically depending on the suitability of the land available. The amount of pipes will depend upon the space available and the amount of heat needed to heat the property. Usually, the outdoor ground space needed is double amount of foor space of the dwelling.
